ORGANISED INDUSTRIAL ZONES (OIZ)
 
What is an organised industrial zone (OIZ)? 

An OIZ is a production park and the followings are targeted:

o Enabling the Industry to be structured in appropriate areas in a sound manner,

o Managing the urbanization process in the country,

o Preventing the environmental problems,

o Benefiting from information and communications technologies,

o Integrating the economic actors in the local areas,

o Facilitating the transfer of know-how among small and medium sized organisations,

o Providing all necessary infra and supra structure services at very reasonable costs.

What is the regulatory framework? Who is the regulator? 

OIZs operate in line with Law No. 4562 dated 2000.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade regulates and supervises the OIZs

Who manages an OIZ? 

A legal entity appointed by a Council of Ministers Decree manages an OIZ.

A managing company is in the charge of the provision of followings:

1. Permanent and secure supply of electricity, water, gas,

2. Construction and maintenance of roads;

3. Security;

4. Access to internet; web-hosting;

5. Fire brigade; fire training; first aid and fully equipped ambulance services;

6. Establishment of environmental administration, follow up to environmental permissions; application of insecticides; waste management;

7. Provision of information on permissions for construction and development, maps and controls; permissions, licenses for new buildings, expansions, renovations;

8. Sale of food for employees;

9. Catering, conference room,

What are the advantages of the OIZ system? 

The advantages of an OIZ can be summarised as:

o Good infra and supra structures,

o Minimised bureaucracy,

o Good co-operation between the companies operating in the zone,

o Low labour costs,
